Rich devoted his entire legal career to furthering the rights of working people, resulting in his selection as one of the nation’s best labor lawyers. After 41 years, Rich retired from active practice in 2007. He remains “Of Counsel” with MILLER O'BRIEN CUMMINS. His work included representing labor unions in many industries, including construction, printing, manufacturing, entertainment, transportation, and health services. He also represented unions in the public sector. He was active in the Minnesota Bar Association, having served as President of the Minnesota Bar’s Labor and Employment Law Section. He also was active in the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section and appeared as a panelist at the ABA’s Annual Convention. Rich remains a member of the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee. He is profiled in The Best Lawyers in America (Woodward/White), and The Guide to Leading American Attorneys (American Research Corporation). Rich grew up in Fairmont, Minnesota, and obtained both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Minnesota.
