Prior to joining MILLER O'BRIEN CUMMINS, Bob worked in the Minneapolis City Attorney’s Office for thirty years, serving as the Minneapolis City Attorney for sixteen of those years. While with the City, he worked to establish the initial bargaining units and initial labor contracts for Minneapolis under the Minnesota Public Employment Labor Relations Act. He has been President and a Board member of the International Municipal Lawyers Association, President of the Minnesota City Attorneys Association, and Chair of the Hennepin County Bar Association Local Government Committee. Bob lectures locally, nationally, and internationally on various public law topics. Bob’s practice includes conducting negotiations, drafting contracts, and handling grievance and arbitration hearings.
